Healthy Alternatives

Toss aside that bad habit and replace it with healthier ones like these:

Instead of overeating, work a part-time job or extra hours to earn money for your new diet and fitness fun and clothes.

Instead of overeating, over-read and learn how to cook healthy meals and how to build up your body.

Instead of overeating, have fun with friends or by yourself. Take a hike, ride a bike, go to a movie, volunteer, baby-sit for a friend in need, take a class and park far from the entrance for more exercise.

Instead of overeating, shop for healthy fresh fruits and vegetables plus low-fat or no-fat dips to go with them.

Instead of overeating, go out with a friend who is also in the process of trying to lose weight and stop overeating. Team up and help each other beat your bad habits!

Instead of overeating, plan your success path, how many pounds you’ll lose per week (2 is average) and how you’ll get there (exercising more, eating less) and log your meals, snacks, fitness activities each day. Plus fill in your thoughts, successes, failures.

Be your own best friend and finally take time to take care of yourself. Go for it!

    Breaking the habit of overeating?
I’ve always been a thin person, and I still am, but I’m afraid that may be beginning to change. I used to have really healthy eating habits, and I consider myself to be a healthy person, but lately I’ve been really overeating and not being healthy at all in terms of food. The more I eat, the worse and I feel about it all, and again I keep eating even though I know it’s not the answer. I have never thought of myself as someone who turns to food for comfort, but I’m afraid that’s who I may be becoming. Please help. How can I break this vicious cycle?

Please, no mean answers. I really am looking for help here. Thank you.
Sorry to add this on, maybe it’s unnecessary, but this just feel like a really serious problem for me.

    Today I ate:
    -2 cereal bars
    -2 grilled cheese sandwiches
    -4 pieces of cinnamon toast
-2 sandwiches with nutella and peanut butter
-some feta cheese (on it’s own, just cause it was there!)
    -juice
    -pizza munchies
    -pineapple

Try to eat only real food like vegetables, fruit, meat, and grains, then eat half as much as you would normally eat.
That’s all you have to do.
And be conscious of what you are putting in your mouth.

will power, vegetables, fruit, i can eat anything adn everything sometimes
one thing ive learned is to have someone there when you eat
    a thin person…
you look at them not eating
and you kinda dont want to eat yourself

also, not keeping food around the house does miracles
when theres food on the counter you are more likely to pick at it even though you dont want to eat

take me yeaterday, we have lots of cake and yummy food on the counters and i kept picking at it until i felt sick, and still i kept picking at it
finally i put it in the fridge and drank warm water
    very effective =]

For quantity use a salad size plate instead of the big plate for your meal and no seconds. Then if you worry you will be hungry again, just promise yourself you will eat again in 2 hours. And do. Eat every 2 hours a small portion of food and you should find you are satisfied. Think of a small fire, if you throw a few twigs or a small log on it, the fire will grow. However if you throw a large log on it, you will kill the fire. You want to keep your fire lit and burning smoothly for a healthy body. So eat several small meals throughout the day. Remember to drink water before each meal to assist you in feeling full. Also keep in mind foods rich in fiber can be filling.

Its possible you are eating to fight depression or some other emotion in your life, instead of dealing with the root problems. you could possibly benefit from some counseling..Don’t let this drag on this way–get it fixed so you can get back to a good life!!
